9:01 am
on "fox news sunday". happy mother's day from fox news in washington. this year in a joint operation with saudi arabia managed to thwart a terrorist attack. we'll have senator dianne feinstein. welcome back to "fox news sunday". >> thank you, shannon. >> the latest information where al-qaida is headquarters. word of two drone attacks that took out militants. what is your information with al-qaida in that region? >> i think the sense is, i know the sense is, aqap is the number one threat to your country. there are efforts to get at the bomb maker of this nonmetallic bomb that may be able to go through mag notom meters and the fact that the bomb was recovered

9:03 am
should be launched in to how the information was leaked? >> a big one. this was serious. the operation was closely held and sy, f.b.i. and homeland security and tsa. so a limited number of people knew about it. general procedure would have the chairman and the vice chairman of each of the intelligence committees briefed during the attack or prior to it. this was not the case. there was no briefing. apparently the leak came to an ap reporter, the government called and asked that the story be held and the story was held what this does, it certainlyed . jeopardizes the asset and jeopardizes our ability to relate for other countries and other countries to help us and gives a tip off to aqap to be

9:05 am
candidly no. i can't say that i am. the pat down is better than the magnatom meter. this particular kind of explosive nonmetallic is not easily detectible and why abdulmutallab wore it in his wirped way so he would not be patted down sufficiently to detect it. that is a problem and something tsa has to grapple wi. most travelers are. most say i will go with the flow and i recognize the need and therefore i don't mind being patted down. i am in that category but not everybody is. so i came from afghanistan last week along with my colleagues on the intelligence committee through dubai and there

screening was very heavy. you pass throughh magnatometers and opened hand luggage at the gate and look for gun powdernd things on your hands . so there was a big pat down with addional security. it was very evident. and having said that you can't maintain that all of the time. and so i think it is very important that tsa keeps up the efforts and that we americans who travel a lot understand what is at stake. when you see the number of people on these large planes, you are aware of the fact that this is really necessary to do and particularly right now. i am hopeful that we will be ab to candidly kill this bomb maker and kill some of his associates, because there is a
